Anca Jugarean

Anca Jugarean brings more than 20 years of combined executive and corporate governance experience in the not-for-profit sector.  Anca is currently the Board Governance Officer at Achēv, where she has been serving the Board and its Committees for the past 7 years, developing innovative corporate governance processes and practices, and safeguarding the implementation of Board decisions and the administration of governance-related matters.  Anca is also a proactive and collaborative partner to the CEO and executive team of Achēv, one of the largest providers of employment, settlement, language, women, youth, and technology solutions services in the GTA, throughout Canada and abroad, that is committed to creating faster paths to prosperity for its clients.

Prior to corporate governance, Anca has facilitated governance-type services to the settlement sector leadership of government-funded organizations in Ontario.  She has an outstanding track record of success in fostering critical collaborative relationships with key stakeholders, in creating and implementing innovative processes and best practices within the organization and across the sector, adding value and significantly impacting clients, organizations and communities.  Driving change, Anca has been a strong advocate for, and initiator of process improvements and innovation, enabling creativity, and continuous improvement of self and others.  Anca has extensive experience in corporate administration, web design, marketing, and is continuously focused on building a great culture through effective communication.

Anca holds the GPC.D designation from the Governance Professionals of Canada and is formally trained in Project Management amongst other skills.  She is an educator by profession and continuous learning, and helping others discover and reach their potential are Anca’s main passions.  Over the years, Anca has engaged in extensive volunteering in different capacities at Achēv, including as Site Coordinator (Operations), Chair of Social Committee (Human Resources), Subject Matter Expert (R&D), and is currently the host of a highly attended Lunch and Learn Program (Professional Development).  She has served as Co-Chair of the Governance Professionals of Canada Ontario Great Lakes Chapter and continues to be actively involved as member of the GPC OGL Committee since 2021.
