Denise Ferreira is a well-regarded leader with over 20 years of shareholder, securities and governance industry experience. Denise is currently the Vice President, Client Solutions Canada for Abandoned Property Advisors, LLC. She oversees Canadian operations and develops strategies for clients to sustain and maintain best governance practices for unclaimed assets. Denise previously served as Director in the Corporate Secretary’s Department at Sun Life. Her role there included stakeholder communication and engagement, and managing the budgets associated with those activities. Denise has successfully managed relationships and shareholder services worldwide, including in Canada, the United Kingdom, the United States, Hong Kong and the Philippines. Her experience includes communicating with Board members and Management teams on various securities matters. Additionally, she has developed processes and policies for non-financial filings as required by securities regulators and various stock exchanges. She created a framework for Director compensation processes, stock option exercises, insider trading, related filings, and execution of activities related to the Annual and/or Special Meetings of shareholders. In addition to her broad experience, she thrives on problem-solving and is a strong advocate committed to ethics, diversity, integrity, and promoting governance excellence.
