Shelley Wilson
Shelley has had a successful 25+year of progressively senior level and corporate governance experience at The Independent Order of Foresters (Foresters Financial), a Canadian federally regulated financial institution operating in Canada, U.S. and U.K., where she specializes in corporate secretarial and regulatory services as well as legal operations. She manages and coordinates the day-to-day legal operations as required, including staffing, budgeting, operational issues, and oversight. She also has functional direct authority and leadership with respect to individual paralegals and administrative support, while playing a key senior corporate paralegal role in supporting governance and corporate secretarial services to Foresters Board and its subsidiaries.
Shelley currently sits on the Board and acts as Secretary for Jessie’s -The June Callwood Centre for Young Women. Shelley is also Vice Chair on the Ontario Chapter of the Governance Professionals of Canada and is co-Chair of Foresters Women’s Employee Resource Group. Over the years, she has been involved in a number of volunteer activities including Habitat for Humanity, KaBOOM! Playground Builds, and most recently organized workplace volunteer events for a pre-treatment house for men awaiting admission to residential treatment programs and Patient Care kits for a SHN emergency department.
In her spare time, Shelley enjoys travelling and keeping active. Most recently she has discovered a passion for photography, as well as spending time exploring Toronto with her daughter and grandchildren.
