Governance Professionals of Canada (GPC) Announces New Board
The Governance Professionals of Canada is pleased to announce the new
GPC Board elected at its recent annual meeting on August 21, 2022, at
the 24th annual GPC Corporate Governance Conference in Kelowna, BC.
Continuing board members, re-elected at the Annual Meeting, are:
- Nicholas Cheung, Senior Consultant and Head of Privacy Training, The Privacy Pro
- Horacio Galanti, Director of Operations
- Terry Knee, Corporate Secretary, Governance and Compliance, FPInnovations
- Arne Gulstene, Regional Head -TSX Company Services
- Carlton Mathias, Vice President Law, ESG and Corporate Secretary, Ontario Power Generation (OPG)
- Christine Thomas, Vice-President, Governance, Risk & Compliance & Legal Counsel, Canadian Medical Association
- Colleen Ouellette, Deputy Secretary and Director Corporate Secretariat, Export Development Canada
The addition of three new members this year, rounds out the board's
skills set, expertise, sector and national representation. New directors
are:
- Suzanne Anton, Vice-President, Strategy, Praxis Consulting
- Richard Barber, Chief Client Officer, Bridgepoint Financial Services Inc.
- Annie Laurenson, Director, Governance and Corporate Secretary, Lundin Mining Corporation
GPC would like to express its gratitude to Carmel Bellamy, Sheldon
Stener (past Secretary), Misti Christensen (past Chair) and Sally
Maziarz (past Chair) as they step down from the Board, for their
valuable contributions to the board over these past few years.
As GPC continues to grow and forge ahead with key strategic
initiatives such as enhanced membership value, a stronger focus on local
engagement, the evolution of the GPC Education Program (GPC-EP) and
professional development offerings, GPC is delighted to have a committed
and diverse Board to support and oversee its activities in the coming
year.
