John Bieker, Owner, Leitstern Consulting

John has served as the Chief Governance Officer for an Indigenous government in British Columbia, serving as corporate secretary for the Board of Directors, and fulfilling the role of clerk and advising parliamentarian for their legislative assembly and Annual General Meetings.

John advocates for continuous improvement in governance activities, and leads training sessions for in board effectiveness, decision-making, and developing strong governance practices.

John has extensive knowledge of Roberts’ Rules of Order, and is a Registered Parliamentarian with the National Association of Parliamentarians. He achieved his GPC.D in 2023, and was the 2024 Governance Professional of the Year.
