Shona McGlashan, FCG is a senior leader at Vancity Credit Union, currently heading Vancity’s mental health strategy and developing a model for inclusive and anti-racist governance. Shona has over 20 years’ experience leading governance, public affairs, diversity and inclusion, and privacy functions on both sides of the Atlantic. She is a Fellow of the Chartered Governance Institute, holds a certificate in Workplace Mental Health Leadership, and is a qualified mental health first aider.

Shona’s governance focus is on promoting values-based governance that also adds organizational value. She is passionate about diversity, equity, and inclusion, and is an in-demand speaker on inclusion in governance and leadership. Shona is also dedicated to breaking taboos around mental health, having balanced executive roles and family responsibilities with managing a mental health disorder for over a decade. Shona sits on the boards of Bard on the Beach and Pain BC. She is a parent of teenagers, voracious reader, Gaelic learner, and student of mindfulness.
