Previously, Kody was the Employment Director for the Tahltan Central Government (TCG) and he worked at the Brucejack Mine as an underground miner.  Kody understands the importance of proper governance and how it relates to ESG initiatives within indigenous economic development corporations and mining industry; indeed, his experience working with mining companies in Tahltan Territory gives him a unique working knowledge of how proper ESG practices create productive and sustainable working relationships.

Coming from a mining family, Kody has been around the industry his whole life and has a wholistic view from working alongside miners to implementing sections of IBA’s when he worked for the TCG.  Focusing mainly in the Golden Triangle in Northern BC, Kody has experienced and contributed to the development of TCG protocols around work within Tahltan Territory and how companies interact with the Tahltan Nation.  He understands the positive benefits sustainable mines can bring to remote areas and plans to pursue a career in corporate development to help develop ESG focused mining projects.
