Patrick Cormier

Patrick Cormier is Chief Operations, Financial & Legal Officer at the Digital Identity Laboratory of Canada. In the period 2011 to 2019, he was initially Chief Executive Officer of the Canadian Centre for Court Technology and Vice-President Digital Transformation at Notarius. He also served as IT Expert Counsel on the Quebec Bar Information Technology Committee.

Mr. Cormier is a regular conference speaker and instructor on digital signatures, information security and the law. He also provided continuous legal education to judges and members of the Justice sector across the country. Recent public speaking engagements include:

  • Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) (October 2019)
  • Payments Summit (May 2019)
  • Cybersecurity & Identity Summit (April 2019)
  • LegalIT Montreal Conference (March 2019).

Prior to this, Mr. Cormier completed 20 years in the Canadian Forces, first as a Signals Officer and next as a military lawyer and project director in the Office of the Judge-Advocate General.

He holds a Bachelor of Space Sciences from Collège militaire royal de Saint-Jean (B.Sc., 1992), a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Civil Law from McGill University (B.C.L./LL.B., 2001). He has been a member of the Quebec Bar since 2002.
