Steve Mallory, ICD.D, FCIP, CRM, BA

Stephen (Steve) Mallory brings nearly a decade of experience on the boards of two Canadian Federal Government Crown corporations from 2008-2017. Notably, he chaired the Governance, Risk, and Strategy Committee at VIA Rail Canada Inc., and served as director at the Standards Council of Canada. Steve served from 2011 to 2022 on CSA Canadian Risk Management Mirror Committee TC 262.

He currently runs Directors Global Risk Consulting Inc., providing enterprise risk management consulting to boards and executive teams. Previously, he was CEO and Region Head within two of Canada’s largest national insurance firms and ran his own firm (2007-2018).

Steve provides instruction at both York University’s Master of Financial Accountability curriculum and at the Governance Professionals of Canada’s accredited GPC.D program (2017-present). He has provided years of instruction within the Canadian Institute of Corporate Directors' DEP/ICD.D program. 

An accomplished public speaker and author, Steve has contributed chapters to notable business books such as “The Handbook of Board Governance” by Dr. Richard A. Leblanc (2016, 2020, and 2024 editions) and “Enterprise Risk Management: Today's Leading Research and Best Practices for Tomorrows Executives” (2021) by Fraser, Quail, and Simkins.
