Call for Members – Advocacy and Thought Leadership Advisory Committee

The Governance Professionals of Canada (GPC) is seeking two to three (2–3) new members to join its Advocacy and Thought Leadership Advisory Committee. This Committee plays a key role in supporting GPC’s management team in advancing advocacy efforts, monitoring legislative and regulatory developments, and contributing to thought leadership that strengthens the governance profession across Canada.

Mandate

  • Monitoring governance-related legislative and regulatory developments
  • Providing insight into key trends, challenges and practices in governance

 Desired Skills and Experience

  • Knowledge of governance, corporate secretarial practices, or board operations
  • Experience contributing to research or thought leadership initiatives
  • Strong communication skills, sound judgment, and a collaborative approach
  • Applicants must be current GPC members.
  • Experience in advocacy, public policy, or regulatory engagement
  • A diversity of perspectives, backgrounds, and regional representation is encouraged.
  • Contributing to thought leadership (e.g., position papers, research)
  • Identifying emerging trends and priorities impacting governance professionals

Time Commitment

  • Quarterly meetings (minimum four per year)
  • Participation in Committee initiatives, as required
